TITLE: An Angel at Abbotsford

MEDIUM: Digitally Manipulated Photograph (Photo Manipulation)

I've always loved the Blue Angels. I can remember seeing them fly over my house in formation back in the 70's when they piloted A-4F Skyhawks. They flew so low I almost thought I could grab hold of one and fly away with it. Even today, the raw roar of powerful jet engines puts a great big grin on my face. The Blues switched to the almost all-purpose F/A-18 Hornet in late 1986. What was sleek, fast and sexy became sleeker, faster and sexier.

A DMP based on a photograph made at the Abbotsford International Airshow in 1988, I simply wanted to pay tribute to the Blues, the success and versatility of the Hornet, air shows in general; that make it possible for nearly anyone to see firsthand just what the world's most amazing flying machines can do, and Canada's largest air show.
